Parenting therapy in Rye Brook, New York and throughout NY virtually
Being a parent is hard work, you are not alone.
I can help…
Being a parent can be one of the most satisfying and fulfilling parts of your life, it can also be one of the most challenging. As a parents you are responsible not only for your child’s physical and emotional needs, but also teaching them important life skills, social skills, and appropriate behaviors. There is a lot of pressure to “get it right”. This was never an easy job, but it has grown increasingly difficult in our modern world.
Parenting therapy is a specialized form of therapy that helps parents face difficult moments in parenting; identify, address, and manage their own past or present experiences that may be affecting the way they relate to their child; and enhance communication between parents to maintain a cohesive parenting approach. Parenting therapy provides a safe, judgement-free place to discuss difficult moments and learn how to better manage these tough situations moving forward.

Here’s what we’ll do together
Parenting Therapy can help .
Through parent therapy you will learn to clearly identify the challenges you are facing and to recognize some of the causes of these issues. Discover how to separate your struggles and feelings from life and childhood from those of your children. Learn new tools and techniques to manage your stressors and find greater balance in your life while gaining new skills to help your children navigate theirs. I’ll help guide you through the process, customizing each step to your unique needs and circumstances.
As the mother of four, I understand both personally and professionally the challenges of parenting. In addition to counseling mothers suffering from postpartum depression, I also provide guidance and support to new and not-so-new parents as they deal with the stresses including sleep deprivation, sleep training, sibling conflicts, issues with school performance, guidance through the challenges of the teenage years and changes in their marriage. I help parents understand their children's physical and emotional development and behavior. We can discuss age appropriate and typical behaviors and atypical or problematic concerns. Our work will help you gain insight into you child's behavior and confidence in your parenting skills.
At the end of the day, I want you to know:
You can be the parent you want to be and the parent your children deserve.
What we’ll work on

You are confident in yourself, your parenting skills and the decisions you make.
