About Lauren Rose, lcsw

You don’t have to do this all on your own.

I’m a Rye Brook, New York based therapist specializing in anxiety, depression and life transition work with clients from the beginnings of adulthood through their golden years . My office is a place where you can feel seen, heard and understood just as you are.

please Hear me when I say:

Being here doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re strong.

I help people just like you who want to be happier, more confident and fulfilled but need support to get there. I will guide you through the process and teach you skills and strategies along the way to better understand yourself and manage your emotions and life’s struggles.

Together we explore how you got to this place—identifying not only how you are feeling and how your emotions and actions impact those around you, but also how you arrived here. Then we work to develop improved communication skills and behaviors to affect the change you seek. Through our work together you will find the inner strength, confidence and self-awareness to tackle any challenges life throws your way.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that no two people are the same and no two people receive the same therapy.

Recognizing that each of my clients is unique, I draw on different counseling techniques and philosophies depending upon their particular needs and circumstances..  My primary tools are psychodynamic counseling, commonly known as "talk" therapy; Family Systems therapy, which is the process of understanding how an individual impacts upon the family and how that family reacts to that individual; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); Mindfulness Techniques & Yoga Therapy, integration of the body and mind; and Animal Assisted Therapy.  By combining these treatments and techniques, I am able to customize the psychotherapeutic approach I use to address each client’s individual needs and assist them in their own, personal journey.

Most clients attend weekly sessions either in person, virtually or through some combination of both. My style is warm and relaxed, never cold or clinical. Working with me you have someone who truly understands you and what you are going through.

Therapy with me is…

  • My work is not one-size fits all. You are a unique individual and you deserve unique therapy.

  • Located in a quiet Westchester suburb you won't run into anyone you know. All communications are private and HIPAA compliant.

  • I work with you and your needs. Sessions can be in person, virtual or some combination of both.

Should you require longer sessions, we can work with that.

Need to reach out between sessions, we can make that happen.

  • I may be gentle, but I don't sugar coat things. My office is a place we can only discuss anything on your mind.

  • This is not the place to come if you want to do superficial work. Deep, lasting change requires work.
